Designed by champions for outstanding performance and reliability,
the Aviastar 1.8 is the perfect power plant for many of today's
outstanding aerobatic models. |
|
| Each Aviastar engine
is engineered for quality. Each part is crafted using the latest
computer-driven machinery, then hand fitted by skilled craftsman
for a finely honed finish. Materials used in the production of
these engines are lastly superior to what you may find in other
engines of this size. For instance, the connecting rod uses the
same aluminum alloy as found on the engines of some full size
aircraft engines. A specially developed bronze alloy (trademarked
"KK") is used for the con rod bushing which allows it to
withstand brutally high RPMs. Piston rings are made of the same
steel alloy as found in racing motorcycles. The cylinders are made
of a special heat treated CR steel alloy, resistant to distorting
under high temperatures. |
|
Of course, the carburetors are of a twin needle design for the
best balance between power and fuel consumption. O rings are used
at all critical points to eliminate any possible air leakage.
There's no lapse of power throughout the transition, making this a
popular choice for aerobatic flying. |
|
| Best of all, you can
run the Aviastar 1.8 with any normal model airplane fuel
containing up to 10% nitro methane. SIG Champion fuels and SIG SYN
PLUS are great choices. |
Some popular airplanes for this engine include SIG 1/3rd Scale
Spacewalker and SIG Sukhoi SU-31 ARF. |
